What I am currently excited about
View
some cool photos of recent races, trips and events
- On September 19th, my wife Catherine and I celebrated
the birth of our son Luc. He has been keeping us
busy ever since!
- In August 2005, my sister Vroni finished off a hugely successful season with a win
at the open Nordic Orienteering Championships and two medals
at the World Championships in Japan. She finished the season
ranked number two in the world!
- In June 2005, I attempted to finish the Race
Across America solo.
Read the journal
- In October 2004, I was elected to the board of Directors of Cancer Lifeline
- In May 2004, Catherine and I were married at Sun Mountain Lodge in the
beautiful Methow Valley in north central Washington.
- In April 2004, my sister Annette and her husband Richi opened
their Bed and Breakfast in an old renovated mill in the Press
area in France. Check it out at: Moulin-de-Glairans
- In March 2004, I started working as a group coach on behalf
of Business Resource Services , a Seattle based financial education firm. This is a service that
will complement my 1-on-1 coaching with small business executives.
I am in the process of becoming the lead coach for two BRS Performance
Groups. These groups consist of business owners from like industries
that meet regularly (face-to-face, online and over the phone)
to share and support each other in financial, marketing, operational
and staffing issues. Group members act as an informal board
of advisors for each of its members businesses.
Older exciting stuff:
- In August 2003, my sister Vroni won the relay gold
medal at the Orienteering World Championships. What
made this event even more special for her was the
fact that the race was held less than 3 miles from
our childhood home, near Zurich, Switzerland, in
front of a HUGE home crowd. I am one proud brother!
- In August 2003, I spoke at the International Coach Federation
Conference held in Sydney, Australia. In conjunction with Centerpoint, the
Northwest's leading center for life and career renewal, I presented
a paper on "The Seasonal Cycle of Change: A New Coaching
Model for Working Through Change". The paper was very well
received and yes I enjoyed some great runs along the Sydney
beaches before and after the conference!
- In May 2003, my wife Catherine and I spent a week in Bend
(OR), about an
8 hour drive from Seattle. We had a grand time! If you want
to ski in the morning and run in the desert in the afternoon,
then Bend is for you!
- From January to March 2003, I spent a lot of time cross country
skiing racing in one of my favorite spots in Washington: The Methow
Valley. I am pleased
to say that I kicked the butts of some of the youngsters in
those races. View the results.
- Christmas and New Years 2002/2003 I spent in my favorite spot
in the Swiss Alps: Davos. I got some cross country mileage in and caught up with family and friends
- In October 2002, I started teaching indoor cycling (spinning)
at the Fremont Sound
Mind and Body Gym in
Seattle. Join me on Mondays at noon for a good workout with
funky music (sometimes all Swiss!).
- In September 2002 my sister Vroni won the European championships
in Orienteering. She is also the current world champion.
- In June 2002 our team of the Swiss Academic Ski
Club placed second in the Race
Across America (RAAM). The RAAM is a non-stop
bike race that begins in Portland, OR and finishes
in Pensacola (FL). We finished in a time of 6 days
and 10 hours. View
photos of the event.
- In preparation for the Race Across America our team spent
a week during April 2002 in beautiful Tuscany, Italy. View
cool photos.
- I placed second overall in one of the Northwest's ultimate
multisport event - the Ridge to
River on April 14th 2002. The one day race consists of cross
country skiing, downhill skiing, running, cycling
and paddling. View
cool photos.
