What is Business and Executive Coaching?
Business and executive coaching is a form of consulting. Like
a consultant, a coach helps you to:
- Identify and clarify your vision, values and long
term goals for yourself and your business;
- Design and implement a plan of action to make your vision
a reality and help you reach your personal and business goals;
- Build your skills and improve your performance;
- Learn new business knowledge.
In addition, the coach offers support by:
- Working with you through the changes and inevitable
obstacles you will face as you implement the action
plan;
- Helping you strike a balance between your personal and professional
life during the implementation; and
- Bringing out the best in you, keeping you focused on your
vision, values and needs.
Coaching works because of:
- Synergies: Client and coach become a team, focusing
on the client's goals and needs. Together they achieve
more, faster than the client would alone.
- Structure: With a coach, a client takes more action, thinks
bigger and gets the job done quicker, thanks to the accountability
the coach demands.
- Expertise: The coach has the expertise to bring out the best
in you. The coach believes that you have the answers to your
needs and is trained to help you reveal them. In addition, the
coach may have expertise in a specific field such as time management
or business planning and will be able to offer concrete advice
in that area.
